This is yet another Mangalorean (Konkan) delicacy. Lady's Finger is my favorite veggie and in any form I love it.

This is a spicy, sweet and tangy dish. Goes well with Rice and Roti's.

This is a spicy, sweet and tangy dish. Goes well with Rice and Roti's.
What you need:
- Bhindi/ Vendaikaai/ Lady's Finger - 1/4 kg
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Curry Leaves - few strands
- Salt & Jaggery - to taste
To Grind:
- Coconut - 1/4 cup
- Tamrind - small size ball
- Dry red chilies - 4 - 6
- Dhaniya - 1 1/2 tsp
- Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp (roasted in oil)
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
How to go about it:
- Heat oil in a pan, roast urad dal, dhaniya and dry red chilies until they are fragrant and let it cool. now is a mixer add coconut, tamarind and turmeric powder and the roasted spices and add little water and grind to a very fine paste.
- Now, heat oil in a pan, splutter the mustard seeds, curry leaves and add the chopped ladies finger and fry.
- Add salt and jaggery and fry.
- Now add the ground paste and fry for a few more minutes, until everything combines together.
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
