Paneer Pasanda (Sandwiched Cottage Cheese in Cashew Tomato based Creamy Gravy)

Birthdays are always special and my Mr's. birthday is even more to me. I fondly remember his 25th birthday where I gifted 25 of his favorite things. Phew!!! It was a big task and had to do everything hush hush!!!

This time I planned a week long dinner celebration. Each day would be something special in both main and a dessert. On his birthday I planned to make Phulkas, Paneer Pasanda and Shahi Tukda.

A delicately spiced gravy where the fried, sandwiched paneer soak. Every bite into the sandwich bring out the flavor of the fresh filling. It was just wonderful.

What would you need:

For the Paneer Sandwich

  1. Paneer - 250 grams
  2. Cashews, raisins - 1 tsp (finely chopped)
  3. Chaat masala - 1 pinch
  4. Salt - a pinch
  5. Coriander leaves - 1/2 tsp (finely chopped)
  6. Maida, chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder mixture - 1/4 cup
  7. Water - few tbsp
  8. Oil - deep frying
For the Gravy:

I made the same gravy of my Matar Paneer Recipe.

How to go about it:
  1. Take about 50 grams of paneer, crumble it and add cashews, raisins, chaat masala, salt, coriander leaves, and mix together.
  2. Now with the rest of the paneer, cut them into flat triangular pieces and fill each of them with the crumbled paneer mixture.
  3. Mix maida mixture with water to a semi liquid consistency.
  4. Dip each paneer sandwich and deep fry them until golden brown.

Now, add each of these sandwiches to the gracy and serve hot with roti, phulkas naan...

Enjoy with your loved ones...

Luv...
