My Mothers Kofta Curry

My mother is away now enjoying her time in the States, and I miss her sooooo much.  This kofta curry is her invention and I just love it!!!
I made this recently, and thought I should probably add this in my blog....This is for u amma....

What you need:

For the Kofta's

  1. Potatoes - boiled and mashed - 3 nos (makes about 10 kofta's)
  2. Green chilies - 3
  3. Coriander - finely chopped - 3 tbsp
  4. salt - to taste
  5. Cornflour - 3 - 4 tsp

For the Gravy:
  1. Onions - 2
  2. Tomatoes - 2
  3. Red chili powder - according to one's taste
  4. Salt - to taste
  5. Dhaniya Powder, Turmeric powder, Jeera powder - 1/2 tsp each
  6. Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  7. Ginger Garlics paste - 1 tsp
  8. Oil - 3 tbsp
  9. Sugar - a pinch

How to go about it

  1. First, mash the potatoes and bring all the other ingredients together. Add required cornflour and combine together well.
  2. Make little balls and deep fry them until golden brown.
  3. Now, in a blender, quarter the onions and tomatoes. Blend them into a nice paste.
  4. In a kadai, add oil. Once the oils is hot, add the ground paste and stir it for few minutes. Close with a lid and let it cook until the raw flavor is off.
  5. Add all the dry powders and ginger garlic paste.
  6. Cook for another few minutes, until the oil separates from the gravy.
  7. Add the kofta's to the gravy while serving, with hot roti's or phulkas.

Njoy with your loved one...

Luv
